Miyajima island, Itsukushima, Japan

Itsukushima is an island you must see if you are visiting Hiroshima. 30 min by train and 15 minutes by Ferry. Covered by the Japan Rail pass. It is popularly known as Miyajima.
This sea is affected by strong tides. At low tide you can reach island's torii. At high tide, the sea covers all.

Reaching the top walking is really hard. Near 2.5 km with uncontable stone stairs among waterfalls, panoramic views and sweating because of the high humidity. However you can take the Miyajima Ropeway that carries visitors to within a 30-minute high to the top. If you are lucky you could see monkeys. Hundreds of deers run free in the island.
