The Basilica Cistern in Istanbul

The Basilica Cistern is the largest of several hundred ancient cisterns that lie beneath the city of Istanbul. The cistern is located  very close to the Sophia Cathedral. Built in the 6th century during the reign of Byzantin Emperor Justinian.

Really impressive. Try to do this visit at midday after visiting santa Sophia Cathedral, there will be few people.
